Salamanderverse | Readers' Questions

In our Facebook readers’ group, you asked some really interesting questions. Some were about my books and the Salamanderverse, and others were about reading in general.

Today, I wanted to take a moment to answer a few of them here.

Question 1:

Have you’ve ever thought about going back and writing about the fall of the elves? —Andy T.

Excellent question! This idea had crossed my mind more than once. The history of Kendral holds so many untold stories, but few are as compelling as the Great Elven Wars. And the mystery doesn’t end with the past. Are there still elves hidden in the depths of the ancient Elven Forests or lost within the mists of the Elemental Lands? Or are the four elves who escaped into the human realm after the war truly the last survivors?

There’s definitely a lot of fun material there.

Will I someday write a whole series about Kendral’s elves? Maybe! But for now, it’s not on my official writing schedule.

Question 2:

I need the story of Mrak. Will this ever happen? —Darron C.

You’re definitely not the only one, Darron. Quite a few readers have been curious about Mrak Delar and the Masters of Power in general.

In my blog post about the Salamanderverse origin story, I mentioned a trilogy I wrote some time ago but never published. That trilogy dives into the intense, complicated and fascinating history of the Masters of Power, focusing on Mrak Delar and Alliandr.

Salamanderverse

So if you’ve ever wondered whether Mrak Delar was truly a dark Master of Power, evil to the core… or how Alliandr became the youngest ruler Kendral has ever seen… the trilogy answers all of that and more.

Rewriting and publishing the origin story is definitely in my plans. So keep an eye on my newsletters and social media posts!

Question 3:

Will there be books with team-ups from the other series? —Michelle B.

This question made me smile and think about The Defenders, the TV show. 😊

I’ll be honest, I’ve never thought about creating one giant story where every main character from every series shares the spotlight equally.

Crossovers are a different story. I do love those. If you’ve read The Storm Betrayal, you know all of them—Zane Burns, Yaroslav Potemkin, Damian Blake and Cole Adams—came together to help Declan and Troyan save the world.

But even then, Declan remained the main character, while the others played supportive roles.

Question 4:

What kind of books/authors do you like to read and have you a favourite? —Helen V.

I love reading, and I used to read a lot more. These days, my time is more limited, so I can’t devour books the way I used to, but I still read as much as I can. I enjoy exploring different authors and genres—urban fantasy, fantasy, romantasy, historical fiction, thrillers, suspense… if it sounds interesting, I’ll give it a go.

Here are just a few books from some of my favorite genres:

URBAN FANTASY

1.      Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

This series pulled me into the urban fantasy world, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Wizards and gods roaming our streets, vampires and werewolves hiding in plain sight, and a hidden supernatural world waiting to be discovered—I can never resist it.

2.      Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews

Hands down one of my favorite urban fantasy series. I re-read it occasionally. It’s my little escape zone. Non-stop action, a clever plot, characters you genuinely care about, and rich mythology and lore—this series delivers all of that and more.

3.      The Twenty Palaces series by Harry Connolly

The main character is the kind of antihero you can’t help but root for. The story is unusual, gripping, and keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

FANTASY

A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin

A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin

I absolutely love Ursula K. Le Guin’s books. I think I’ve read most of them, but A Wizard of Earthsea is probably my favorite. A young, overly confident wizard unleashes a monster into the world and then has to face the consequences of his own actions.

What could be better? 😉

The world-building and magic are wonderful, but it’s Ged’s inner journey—facing his own fears and his own darkness—that truly makes this story unforgettable.

HISTORICAL FICTION

Historical Fiction is one of those genres I could talk about all day. I’ve read so many amazing books over the years, but here are a few that have truly stuck with me:

1.      The Kingsbridge Series by Ken Follett.

2.      The works of Alexandre Dumas. Every single one! But let’s be honest, The Count of Monte Cristo is unmatched. I’ve reread it more times than I can count.

3.      The Accursed Kings Series by Maurice Druon.

Thank you again for all your amazing questions! If anything else pops into your mind, leave a comment below. I’ll do my best to answer them in the next post.

The Storm Challenge | Salamanderverse

Welcome to the Salamanderverse!

Once again, it’s narrated by the talented Steven Barnette, who brings the story to life beautifully. With 13 hours of nonstop action and adventure, this installment continues the journey of Declan and Troyan, and if you’ve been waiting for the audio version, it’s finally here.

I hope you enjoy the ride!
