It’s time for the December Urban Fantasy Author’s update. As I write that, I have a hard time believing it’s December already, the last month of 2021. It’s crazy how fast time goes by.
So, here’s what’s new in the Fire Salamander World.
What am I currently working on?
The last month was full of unexpected delays and setbacks. My trusty MAC decided that it had enough, and after ten long years of hard work, it finally broke down. As I learned (the hard way, of course), shopping for a new MacBook Pro right after Apple released their new and improved version of the laptop wasn’t such a hot idea, because the backorders were apparently over a month long!
But needs must, so after checking a bunch of different websites and visiting countless number of electronic stores, I was lucky to find a single store with a single MacBook Pro still available.
Now, I'm back to writing, and I’m currently, at about 100K words into the next installment of the Shadow Enforcer series. It means, my characters are facing their final battle, and I’m very close to being done with the first draft of the book.
Ask The Author
Question: How many plot ideas do you have that are just waiting to be written?
Answer: There are always ideas... Like George R.R. Martin said, “Ideas are cheap. I have more ideas now than I could ever write up. To my mind, it’s the execution that is all-important.” When I feel that an idea is worth researching, I usually write it down and do the research when I have time. Currently, I am writing book 5 of the Shadow Enforcer series, and usually, when I work on a book, I give it my full and undivided attention. However, there is an idea for another Urban Fantasy series that is also going to be a part of the Fire Salamander magical universe. This is just one of the ideas that I have researched, which I believe worth writing when the time comes.

What am I watching?
Just like many of you, I am watching Amazon’s Wheel of Time. I love the books, and I have all fourteen of them on my bookshelf. Even though the show doesn’t follow the books precisely, I still enjoy it.
Besides that, I gave a try to Netflix’s Arcane, and I loved it. I loved everything about it—the heartbreaking story, the style of animation, the music and the quality of the production. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best animated series done by Netflix.
