From Author’s Desk: November News and Updates

The Shadow Choice | Urban Fantasy

It’s time for the November Urban Fantasy Author’s update. I missed the Author’s Desk updates in September and October, but those were two busy months. A lot of things were happening at once, including the release of The Shadow Choice, the seventh book of the Shadow Enforcer series.

Currently, I am working on the eighth book of the Shadow Enforcer series, and at 115K words, I am so close to finishing the first draft that I can almost see myself typing “The End”… Well, not yet. There are still a couple of chapters and the epilogue to go.

So, what should you expect from the next book? Here are just a few random facts about the next story to satisfy (or peak) your curiosity.

Three Random Facts About Book 8

FACT 1. Just like in all the novels of the Shadow Enforcer series, the story revolves around two immortal brothers: Damian and Cole. But in this story, they are facing a challenge unlike anything they had to face before.

FACT 2. As always, Damian is surrounded by a web of intrigues and lies, but this time, he literally races against the clock, and if he can't complete his mission on time, the consequences will be devastating.

FACT 3. Two powerful supernatural organizations will come into play in this book (Not the Destiny Council 😉). Both had been mentioned in the previous books in passing, but this time, they will come out to play, and their involvement is not going to make Damian's and Cole's lives any easier.

Ask The Author

Question: Do you find it more challenging to write the first book in a series or to write the subsequent novels?

Answer: Whether it is the first book in the series or the last one, writing a novel is always a challenge. However, I do find writing the first book of the series more challenging... or perhaps it's a different kind of challenge than writing the subsequent novels. The first book of the series is the most important one. In most cases, this is where you introduce your MC(s), build your world and create the rules of magic (in the case of Fantasy genre/subgenre). This is the book that will set the tone for the entire series. If you don't do it right from the very beginning, the readers are not going to give a chance for the second book of the series.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me. I’ll be happy to answer your questions in my next Author’s update.

As always, thank you all so much for your continued support.

Happy reading!

P.S. Don't forget. The first book of the Shadow Enforcer Series is now available on Audible!
