December. It is the last month of 2022 and this is the last author's update for this year. Looking back, it was a busy year, and I am happy to finish it with the cover and title reveal of the eighth book of the Shadow Enforcer series.
I don't have the exact release date, but my goal is to release it sometime in January. So, keep an eye on my future posts and emails!
What am I currently working on?
I am almost done with the final round of editing of The Shadow Sacrifice. In the meantime, I finished my research and planning for the next book of the Shadow Enforcer series. The holiday season is almost here, and I am planning to spend it with my family. So before all the festivities come, I want to gain some momentum in writing and put as many words on digital paper as I can.
Besides that, I used the opportunity to update my website a little, getting ready for the release of the new book, and making space for a possible new series that may or may not come in 2023.
Graphic design and digital art are my second passion after writing, and I use every chance I get to spend time over my Wacom table with a Digital Pro Pen in my hand. Updating the website gave me the opportunity to work on the character design for The Shadow Enforcer Series and The Fire Salamander Chronicles.
I realize that when you read a book you create your own image of the character in your mind, and for each person, this character looks different. So, here is how I see them in my head.
DAMIAN BLAKE.
Since I design my own covers, usually I choose a model who looks close enough to my vision of a character.
Damian is the Shadow Enforcer, and a penniless drifter with a dangerous past. He's also 'No One', or at least that is the way he describes himself if you ask him. Those of you who've read the Shadow Enforcer series know that Damian is a lot more than just that.
COLE ADAMS
Damian's brother. This enigmatic entrepreneur is a lot more than meets the eye.
He shows to people only what he wants them to see, and some of his secrets, he won't reveal to anyone. Not even to his brother...
RIVER EVANS
This human police detective doesn't get scared easily.
Despite the lack of any magical powers, River manages to keep up with the powerful brothers, staying on top of everything that’s going on in Paradise Manor as well as the town of Blue Creek.
GYPSY
Meet Gypsy, the cheeky cat with a tongue as sharp as her claws.
From the moment, Damian meets her at River's house, she uses every opportunity to give him a hard time, and he, being a Child of Earth, has no choice but to love the sarcastic feline, no matter how snarky she gets.
So, there you have it... The last author's update of the year. Saying a warm farewell to the year 2022, I wish you all the best for the next year. May the upcoming 2023 be full of wonderful adventures and exciting opportunities. I look forward to chatting with you again after the New Year!
